Not the spec sheet. The moment someone has to get a wheelchair into a car — and how badly most chairs handle it.

Most powered wheelchairs are designed as equipment first and objects you live with second. They’re heavy, they look institutional, and the industry that sells them rarely talks to people as what they are: travellers, parents, workers and holidaymakers who happen to use a chair.

We thought the whole thing could start from the opposite end. Begin with a person who wants to keep going places, and design backwards from that — light enough to lift, small enough to fold into a boot or an overhead-adjacent airline process, and good-looking enough that it reads as a considered choice rather than issued equipment.

Carbon fibre is what makes that possible. It’s why a Seraphin can weigh a third of what a conventional powerchair weighs while carrying an adult, and it’s why the brand is named for the material, and for nothing else.

What we believe

A wheelchair is a travel productThe reason to own one is to go places. Everything about how we design, describe and support our chairs starts from that, not from an equipment checklist.
Tell people which chair not to buyEvery product page names the trade-offs. We’d rather lose a sale to honesty than win one to a chair that comes back. It’s also how you build a brand people recommend.
The paperwork is our job, not yoursBattery documents in the box, specifications your OT can use, quotes the same day. The friction in buying a mobility device is mostly administrative, and most of it is ours to absorb.
Your rights come before our warrantyThe Australian Consumer Law protects you more than any warranty we could write, and we say so plainly rather than hoping you don’t notice.
Price honesty over theatreWe ship direct from our factory and pass on what that saves. In return we ask you to wait about three weeks. We think that’s a fair, and honest, trade.

How we operate

We’re a small Tasmanian business. We don’t hold a warehouse full of chairs — each one is built to your order and flown to your door, which is what keeps the price where it is. What we do hold is a full stock of spare parts, so that a repair becomes a part in the post rather than a chair that vanishes for a month.

We’re not currently an NDIS-registered provider, which means we work with self-managed and plan-managed participants rather than agency-managed ones. We say so upfront on every relevant page, because wasting someone’s time with paperwork that can’t be funded helps nobody.

As we grow, some of this will change — local stock, a service network, registration. We’ll update these pages as it does, and we won’t claim capabilities before we actually have them.
